Update: Positive development for BYD 🚗 buyers awaiting vehicle delivery

⭕️John Keells has gone to court to resolve the matter and argued that the vehicles could be released under a bank guarantee.

⭕️ The court was informed that Sri Lanka Customs is considering the guarantee for the disputed duty amount and is prepared to release all vehicles except six. (Total detained - 997)

⭕️An expert committee from the Universities of Peradeniya and Moratuwa, along with engineers from BYD, is working to determine the motor capacity—a key factor in calculating import duties.
