💳 🇱🇰 Bus Fares Go Cashless from Nov 30, 2025

⭕ From Nov 30, 2025, commuters can pay bus fares using bank debit or credit cards on buses with ticket-issuing machines. - Minister Bimal Rathnayake

⭕ According to the Minister, Ministry of Digital Technology has assured that by Nov 30, any bus with a standard ticketing machine will accept any bank card in use in Sri Lanka.

⭕Earlier plans for separate transport cards have been dropped as outdated. The new system aims to make payments simpler for the passengers, reduce fraud, and boost revenue for bus operators.

⭕ This is a great move by the government, marking a major step forward in Sri Lanka’s 🇱🇰 digital payments transformation.
