🛬 🇱🇰 Sri Lanka Mandates Pre-Arrival ETA for All Tourists from Oct 15

⭕ From 15 Oct 2025, all foreign nationals - must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) before arriving in Sri Lanka 🇱🇰.

⭕ ETA fees (online):
• SAARC countries — Tourist (30 days, double entry) = US $20 | Business = US $30
• Non-SAARC countries — Tourist = US $50 | Business = US $55

( No change to current fees)

⭕ Citizens of 🇨🇳 China, 🇮🇳 India, 🇮🇩 Indonesia, 🇯🇵 Japan, 🇲🇾 Malaysia, 🇷🇺 Russia, 🇹🇭 Thailand are exempt from ETA fees, but still must apply.

⭕ The visa-free program launched by the previous government with controversial VFS involvement was canceled about a year ago when the current administration took office.

⭕ Despite multiple announcements of a visa-free entry plan for selected countries, the policy including the fee waiver for 33 new countries (total 40) has not yet been implemented. The new mandatory ETA system could streamline processes for any future visa-free program.
